Dog Stroller History

In 2003 DoggyRide was one of the first dog strollers to hit the market, starting in the Netherlands. Although it did not reach the United States until 2006 these models created a trend among numerous manufacturers to start making these products. These strollers for dogs are in the same type of designs as the stroller you would pull your children in behind your bicycle. In fact, DoggyRide actually offers a more stable ride as it has a flat floor option to keep the animal off of the axle.

The first dog stroller that was introduced was larger and intended for the use of heavier and large breed dogs. However, in 2007 the company finally released a mini stroller for smaller logs and a luxury model. Before these unique animal loving products were released in the states, the company tested their sales in Europe. As they had hoped, sales sky rocketed and shortly after the United States was producing our own doggy strollers. These strollers are not just intended for the use of pampering your pooch though. The invention was created for those pet owners who like to include their dogs on hikes, runs, vacations and sometimes even marathon bike rides.source right here.
